Southbury Holding A Volunteer Fair

More than 40 nonprofit organizations will be present to discuss services they provide Southbury residents.

In recognition of the immense contribution volunteers make to the quality of life in our community, the Town of Southbury will host a Volunteer Fair on Saturday, August 23rd, from 9 AM to noon at the Gazebo area of the Southbury Green on 775 Main Street South.

Over 40 nonprofit organizations will be on hand to discuss the services they provide and the varied volunteer opportunities they offer. These organizations span a wide variety of interests that include environmental preservation, health services, senior citizen issues, youth education and sports, artistic outlets, library services, emergency response, disaster preparedness and many more. The breadth of Southbury’s volunteers is unparalleled. For the list of participating organizations and more information, please visit the Town’s website at: www.southbury-ct.org/volunteerfair.

High school or college students who are looking for a way to fulfill service hour requirements for honors classes and honor societies will also find this event helpful in identifying volunteer positions and projects that may be of interest to them.
