Employment Opportunity - Laborer at the Transfer Station

The Town of Southbury is currently accepting applications for the position of the Laborer at the Southbury Transfer Station.

Laborer at the Southbury Transfer Station (Solid Waste Disposal & Recycling Facility). Part time position – 8 hrs. to 16 hrs. per week including Saturday and “fill-in” coverage, $14.86 per hour.

Performs manual labor duties at the Transfer Station including monitoring and assisting in deposit of recycling and solid waste materials, cleaning up debris and litter, placing and securing tarps on containers, preparing trailers for transport, loading materials, moving appliances, electronics and car batteries, clearing snow and ice from walkway and bins, checking vehicles for permits, and other manual work assignments.
