Per Diem (as needed) Positions in Southbury

Per Diem Animal Control Officer to cover in the absence of the Animal Control Officer. Must be over the age of 18 and must have a valid Connecticut driver’s license, NACA Level 1 and/or 2 certification preferred and minimum 2 years of professional animal care experience. $12.50 per hour. Performs all essential duties related to Animal Control Department.

Per Diem Bus Driver to transport elderly and/or disabled Southbury residents to and from appointments and Senior Center. No prior experience necessary, although must hold State of Connecticut license with appropriate endorsements (minimum “F” endorsement), finger printing and current medical certificate from your physician. $13.00 per hour.

Per Diem Emergency Dispatcher to monitor switchboard, assign police, ambulance and fire units for routine and emergency situations. Must speak and hear clearly. Data entry required. Experience plus APCO or State Certification, also MRT, EMT, Priority Dispatch EMD certification preferred. Extensive background check, including medical & drug examinations. $21.37 per hour.

Per Diem Reference Librarian (Reference Department) - Masters in Library Science plus one year of related experience. A combination of experience and education may be acceptable. $16.60 per hour. Provides reference and reader’s advisory services to library patrons using special research skills. Instructs library patrons in the use of the public computers and electronic and print resources. May need to supervise Library Assistants as directed by the Head Librarian. May need to be responsible for opening and closing the library building on evening and weekends as directed by the Head Librarian.
