Southbury Moving Toward Credit Cards and Away from Cash for Programs: Report

Officials say the society is moving away from cash and they're trying to keep up.

SOUTHBURY, CT — The town of Southbury is moving more and more away from cash and toward credit cards for tax collection and programs offered by the town.

Currently, the Tax Collector's Office and the Parks and Recreation Department take credit cards and officials tell the Republican-American that they're looking to implement a similar program someday at the Southbury Senior Center.

Officials say by using credit cards it cuts down on the possible temptation for abuse of funds that can occur with cash.
