Since 1977 (44 years!), Southbury has come together to make sure that no one is left behind in the holidays. Southbury neighbors, churches, schools, clubs, and businesses alike have all pitched in every single year to make sure that every child in our community receives winter necessities and that touch of love and joy that brightens these months for us all. Every year that our community’s need has grown, our community’s heart has grown with it. We reach out this year with faith that once again through gifts large or small, all of our families will be joined in the peace and abundance of this season.

We are welcoming:

The Southbury Needy Fund, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, operates on a year-round basis helping Southbury residents when there are no other resources available. Since our inception, we have helped neighbors make ends meet during the holidays: providing clothing, books, and toys for children who would otherwise go without.

Throughout the year we also provide emergency financial assistance to families and individuals faced with utility shut-offs, unexpected medical or insurance bills, home repairs, and housing expenses.

In addition, the Fund helps community children participate in school-sponsored trips, after-school care, and summer programs.

ALL of our work is done by volunteers -- both our year-round staff and our enthusiastic community helpers who make our Christmas drive a success every year.
