Southbury Pet Owners Asked to Beware of Coyotes

Officials are asking residents not to let their pets out after dark unattended.

The Southbury Animal Control is warning residents not to let their pets out after dark following a coyote attack last month, the Republican-American reports.

A dog let out by his owner on Oct. 25 at 2:30 a.m. was attacked and carried off by a coyote. The owner retrieved the pet who was treated for minor injuries.

Owners are advised to use a leash at all times.
