Southbury Police Caution Residents About Another New Scam

Several residents have reported that they have received solicitations (from people that appear to be someone in their contacts) requesting Google Play gift cards be purchased for a fundraiser or charity. The sender requests that they scratch the back of the card to reveal the PIN and to email a picture of the PIN to the sender. THIS IS A SCAM!!!!!! No legitimate charity will request gift cards.
