Southbury Police Investigate String Of Smash-And-Grab Thefts: Report

Police are investigating a string of recent vehicle smash-and-grab thefts that may be connected, according to a report.

SOUTHBURY, CT — Police are investigating a string of vehicle smash-and-grab thefts in Southbury that could be connected, according to The Danbury News-Times. Thieves have smashed the windows of at least three vehicles in order to steal items since Aug. 24.

The most recent incident occurred Tuesday at a commercial building at 1450 Southford Road. Police responded to a larceny reported in the parking lot at 6:30 a.m. and found that a purse left in a vehicle had been stolen.

Similar incidents occurred recently on Community House Road and East Flat Hill Road.
