Southbury Police Make Arrest In Connection with Fatal Accident: UPDATE

BREAKING: The fatal accident occurred back on May 13, 2016, police said.

SOUTHBURY, CT — Southbury police say they have arrested William Foley III, 30, of Northfield for his role in the death of a Southbury woman, who was killed in a motor vehicle accident on May 13, 2016. Police said Foley is charged with misconduct with a motor vehicle and failure to obey traffic signal.

Foley was held on a $50,000 bond and will be arraigned at Waterbury Superior Court on April 19. Ruth Grant, 49, of Old Highway Road in Southbury died as a result of an accident involving a dump truck that occurred on Route 6 on May 13, 2016, WTNH News 8 reported at that time.

Grant was unresponsive at the scene and pronounced dead at the hospital. According to police, Grant was driving west on Old Waterbury Road when struck on the driver’s side by the dump truck, WTNH reported. (To sign up for Southbury breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
