Southbury Public Library's Roof Sprung Several Leaks This Week

Officials say the leaks have stopped and it had no impact on operations.

Ice buildup on the roof of the Southbury Public Library led to the discovery of leaks in seven separate areas of the building this week, but officials tell the Republican-American despite the inconvenience the leaks had no impact on operations.

In fact, town departments assisted by helping to remove ice buildup on the roof, and the leaks stopped by Wednesday.

The $6.33 million library opened in 2006 and has a long history of water leaks, the Rep-Am chronicles.
