Southbury Residents Asked to be on Lookout for Three Suspicious Vehicles

The warning comes after a Code Red issued last Thursday.

Based on information provided by residents after last Thursday’s Code Red, Southbury Police are asking residents to be on the lookout for suspicious activity conducted by a 1998 black Honda Civic, a 1997 green Ford Windstar minivan, and a 1995 green Jeep Grand Cherokee, First Selectman Ed Edelson announced on Facebook.

Since late fall, police have investigated numerous burglaries at homes throughout Southbury and are advising people to report anything unusual.

According to the Republican-American, these burglaries have mostly occurred in neighborhoods around Bucks Hill, Roxbury, Judd, West Flat Hill, Hulls Hill and Lum Lot roads.

Police say burglars have forced their way into some homes, and entered through unlocked doors in others. They have removed jewelry, electronics and other valuable items that in most cases can be sold for cash.

Police recommend that residents call 911 if someone comes to their door to solicit business, or if they see a strange car. They ask that residents obtain as much information as possible about the person, including a description of the person, their car and license plate number.
