Southbury Residents To Vote on Proposed Charter Changes

One change is should the unsuccessful candidate for First Selectmen not serve on the Board of Selectmen, be approved?

The November 4th ballot will include 3 questions on it. The first one (1) is a state question and the other two (2) are in regards to the proposed changes to the Town of Southbury Charter.

The two (2) charter questions are as follows:

Shall the revised town charter, except for section 301, in the form filed with the Town Clerk, on August 6, 2014, and thereafter published as required by law, be approved?

Shall the proposed revisions to section 301, which does not allow the unsuccessful candidate for First Selectmen to serve on the Board of Selectmen, be approved?

The proposed changes to the charter are on the homepage of the town website – www.southbury-ct.org.

Copies are also available in the Town Clerk’s office.
