Southbury Roadway Reconstruction Project Announced
During the road work, residents are urged to take alternative routes, but the impacted roads will remain open.

The Town of Southbury is beginning the restoration of the roadway reconstruction project for Jeremy Swamp Road which consists of drainage repairs and paving. We will be re-adjusting catch basin tops beginning on November 20, 2015 through November 25, 2015, First Selectman Ed Edelson said on his Facebook page.
November 30, 2015 begins roadway surface reclaiming and grading, during which time the road will be brought to gravel conditions. The area affected is between the bridle path, Jacob Road and Curt Smith Road, and is anticipated to last until December 2, 2015.
Paving of the road will take place December 3, 2015 and December 4, 2015. Once paving has been completed, a top coat will be applied starting December 7, 2015, weather permitting. The Town will restore affected areas by loaming, seeding, repairing walkways and driveway aprons. Lawn repairs will likely be completed in the spring.

We encourage everyone to take alternate routes when possible to avoid the long traffic delays and gravel road conditions during construction; however the road will remain open for mail delivery, emergency vehicles, and local traffic. No street parking will be allowed within the construction areas.
If you should have questions or concerns about this project, please feel free to contact Public Works at 203-262-0622.
