ARE YOU OK? (RUOK?) is a computer generated daily phone call to the registrant resident at their home residence at a specific time containing a friendly message from the Senior Center/Southbury PD asking if the resident is ok. The resident is only required to answer the phone call. If the phone line is busy, or if there is no answer, the system will call back two more times. If there is still no answer, the system generates an alert that is issued to the SPD Dispatchers who will dispatch a Southbury Police Officer to the residence.
This program is ideal for those seniors living alone or are homebound. If you are interested in learning more about the program or registering as an interested resident, please contact the Senior Center directly at (203) 262-0651 or senior@southbury-ct.gov.
