Southbury Selectman Found in Violation of Ethics Code

The decision was made at a hearing on Monday.

Southbury Selectman Jennifer O’Neill was found in violation of a section of the Code of Ethics for serving on two boards simultaneously at a hearing on Monday, the Republican-American reports.

No penalties will be imposed on O’Neill as she resigned from the Economic Development Commission. O’Neill said the move was politically motivated as there were others on the Board of Selectmen serving in other positions, the paper reports.

The Ethics Commission hired an attorney to advise commissioners about the complaint for which the town approved a $5,000 purchase order.
