Southbury Training School Employee Accused of Workers' Compensation Fraud

Authorities say she earned more than $120,000 while working for a bail bonds business while she was allegedly out injured.

Carol A. Griffin, 45, of Myrna Avenue in Waterbury, who works at the Southbury Training School, is accused of illegally collecting $68,000 worth of workers compensation benefits from 2014 through August of 2015, the Republican-American reports.

Officials from the Workers’ Compensation Fraud Control Unit in the Office of the Chief State’s Attorney say Griffin allegedly earned $126,000 working for a bail bonds business in Meriden while she was out injured on the job in 2014 and she allegedly collected $68,000 in compensation benefits, the Rep-Am reports.
