Southbury Troopers Nab Speeding Motorist on Drug Charges
The state troopers signaled the speeding motorist to stop, but he kept on motoring
SOUTHBURY, CT — State police arrested a man on drug charges after he failed to pull his car over when caught speeding.
On Sunday around 6:40 p.m. state police from Troop-A in Southbury were conducting seat belt checks in Newtown near the area of the Interstate 84, exit 11 off-ramp. The troopers observed a silver Mercedes traveling at a "high rate of speed," according to their report, which did not stop after the cops signaled it to do so.
The police caught up with the speeding vehicle a short time later after conducting a motor vehicle stop. In the investigation that followed, the troopers discovered that Christian Enrique Cedillos, 22, of Bridgeport, was in possession of a large amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
