
Linda J. Zoppa, a Heritage Village resident, died from injuries sustained in a car crash Wednesday morning, the Republican-American reports.
Zoppa, 67, was driving on the east side of New Wheeler Road when her car crossed over to the right side of the road crossing a lawn and a sidewalk and hit a tree on the east side of Heritage Road, the paper reports.
She was pronounced dead at Waterbury Hospital.

Zoppa earned local fame for a 2011 appearance on the ABC News Special “Primetime: Celebrity Weight Loss”. According to the paper, Zoppa had a successful career as a music teacher in New York City schools and was in the pit orchestra as a piano player for various Broadway productions.
Police are still investigating the accident and any witnesses are asked to call Officer Brian D. Flynn at the Southbury Resident Troopers Office at 203-264-5912.
