Southbury Women’s Club 'CT Arts & Eats' Event Is Still A 'Go'

The aftermath of the historic storm won't stop over 50 vendors — and a fleet of food trucks — from displaying their wares.

SOUTHBURY, CT — The Southbury Women’s Club CT Arts & Eats event is still a "go" for Saturday.

The group made the announcement on its website and social media.

"After careful consideration, we have decided to move forward with the event as planned, Saturday, August 24th, from 10 am-4 pm on Southbury Town Hall Green. This decision was made with the full support and guidance of local authorities, who also believe that continuing with the event will offer a positive opportunity for our community to come together during these challenging times," officials at the charity posted on Wednesday.

In response to this last weekend's record rainfall and its aftermath, Southbury Women’s Club members will be collecting monetary donations and gift cards to Southbury restaurants and stores to distribute among those affected. Gift cards may be dropped off at the SWC booth during the event.

Over 50 vendors are scheduled to display an eclectic mix of products ranging from fine art and ceramics to home wares and gourmet foods. There will be live music, food trucks, lawn games and kids' activities as well.
