Southbury's Harry Robinson Praised for His Efforts

First Selectman Ed Edelson said Robinson ensured the youth basketball league was a success after the recreation coordinator resigned.

Southbury First Selectman Ed Edelson took to social media to thank Harry Robinson, who helped ensure the Southbury youth basketball league was a success this winter.

“Thank you to Harry Robinson: Harry Robinson stepped in to coordinate the Southbury youth basketball league with little advanced notice after the unexpected resignation of the recreation coordinator,” Edelson wrote.

“There are over 600 participants in this highly successful program that takes place in multiple school gyms, involves numerous volunteer coaches, as well as referees and clock monitors. The unforgiving winter added another set of challenges. Thanks to Harry’s high level of administrative skills and his long-standing commitment to the program (he has been a referee for decades) everything went smoothly. Although Harry made it look easy, his hard work and attention to detail was evident.
