Full Time or Part Time Positions
Full time Office Manager-Community Services Department-Performs secretarial, administrative, and clerical duties for the Community Services Department, including but not limited to a variety of moderately complex secretarial duties, including, typing, minutes and agendas, computer skills, data management of programs, funds and reports, drafting the monthly newsletter, maintaining financial records, maintaining and tracking grant funds, and other duties as assigned. Position demands excellent problem solving skills as well as execution of complete confidentiality. Associates Degree and 3-5 years of office management experience. Police Department-The Town of Southbury, as part of its ongoing open recruitment campaign, is seeking POST Certified Officers, Retired State Troopers and entry level applicants interested in the position of Police Officer. Candidates will be required to successfully complete a written examination, drug screening, background investigation, polygraph, psychological, oral interview and physical examination. Starting salary range for Southbury Patrol Officers is $52,739 to $61,055. Applications will be reviewed on an on-going basis and acted upon as staffing needs warrant. Part-time-Parks and Recreation-Book and Clock Operators for Youth Basketball games. Applications are now being accepted from interested individuals to work as Youth Basketball Book and Game Clock operators. Position is seasonal/part time. Typical work schedule consists of winter weekends, (December thru March) and the occasional weeknight. The operator is primarily responsible for keeping game statistics and/or operating the game clock. Basic knowledge of the sport is preferred. Must have own transportation to the site. Staff is expected to be punctual, and maintain a courteous, friendly, positive, and helpful attitude attitude towards all participants, coaches, and parents.
