State Police Names New Master Sergeant At Troop A In Southbury

SOUTHBURY, CT — The Connecticut State Police announced several promotions this week, including the naming of a new Master Sergeant at Troop A in Southbury.

Master Sergeant Jack Kulig was promoted from Sergeant, and also was named Executive Officer at Troop A in Southbury. Most recently, Kulig, a 17-year veteran, served as sergeant in the Central District Major Crime Squad.

During his career with Connecticut State Police, M/Sgt. Kulig has been stationed at Troop F in Westbrook, Troop I in Bethany and Troop G in Bridgeport, and he has served as an investigator in the Bureau of Professional Standards.

Kulig also is a decorated member of the Force, earning the agency’s Medal for Meritorious Service, a Lifesaving Award and a Unit Citation.

He holds a bachelors of science from Westfield State College.

In all, Connecticut State Police promoted ten troopers Thursday during a ceremony at State Police Headquarters in Middletown. The event was led by James C. Rovella, Commissioner of the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection, and Colonel Stavros Mellekas, Commanding Officer of the Connecticut State Police.

The other promoted troopers are:

• Master Sergeant Dean Aresco was promoted from Sergeant and has been assigned as Executive Officer at Troop I in Bethany
• Master Sergeant Mathieu Asselin was promoted from Sergeant and will serve as Executive Officer at Troop H in Hartford
• Master Sergeant Wilfred J. Blanchette III was promoted from Sergeant and will serve as Executive Officer at Troop E in Montville
• Master Sergeant Brett Davison was promoted from Sergeant and has been assigned as Executive Officer at Troop C in Tolland
• Master Sergeant Michael Dogali was promoted from Sergeant and has been assigned as Executive Officer at Troop G in Bridgeport
• Master Sergeant Albert Gosselin was promoted from Sergeant and has been assigned as Executive Officer at Troop F in Westbrook
• Master Sergeant Eric Haglund was promoted from Sergeant and has been assigned as Executive Officer at Troop D in Danielson, where he most recently served
• Master Sergeant Gregory Zordan was promoted from Sergeant and has been assigned as Executive Officer at Troop B in North Canaan
• Sergeant Joshua Holcombe was promoted from Trooper First Class and has been assigned to Troop H in Hartford
