Police said a student brought a BB gun to school.

SOUTHBURY, CT — A juvenile student was arrested Wednesday after bringing a BB gun to Pomperaug High School in their backpack, according to the Southbury Police Department.

Police said school administrators and the school’s resource officer quickly resolved the incident on Oct. 28, 2026, within minutes of discovering the BB gun.

The student did not have the BBs or CO2 cartridges needed to fire the gun, according to police.
