Survivor: Redemption Island, 8 p.m., CBS
Last week was the greatest episode in the history of Survivor, and that includes Sue Hawk’s snake speech and the time Rupert stole the other teams’ shoes. The challenge, the finagling, the Mattness of Matt, and then the sending of Matt back to Redemption Island. If that kid comes back again, he will no longer be a man of God, I am telling you that. Sheer, absolute, pure genius.

American Idol, 8 p.m., Fox
It’s movie theme night. Of course you remember in the past this has given us greatness in the form of Kris Allen’s Falling Slowly, and some awfulness in the form of almost everything else. Will Jacob Lusk do The Way We Were (“Your girl is lovely Hubbell.”)

Breaking In, 9:30 p.m., Fox
This had some good lines. Plus, it is less a Christian Slater show than it is a Bret Harrison show that Christian Slater cavorts through. I mean that in a good way, if you follow me. Harrison is the Slacker Dude who starred in the CW show Reaper, which was quite good but got old fast. This sitcom is about a bunch of wacky characters who break into things to test security systems. It is exactly the same as Leverage except only a half hour long and with much more clever dialog.
