Teen High on Mushrooms Arrested After Biting Southbury Police Officer

The teenager is accused of assaulting two police officers.

A teenager under the influence of hallucinogenic mushrooms was arrested on Saturday for assaulting two police officers, the Republican-American reports.

The 17-year-old ran into traffic on Main Street North around 6:40 p.m. where he bit a Southbury police officer and assaulted an off-duty state police trooper.

The juvenile was arrested for assaulting a police officer, third-degree assault, interfering with a police officer and reckless use of a highway by a pedestrian, the paper reports. He was released on a promise to appear at a hearing on Monday in Waterbury.
