
The Watermark at East Hill is pleased to announce the addition of Jason Matula as Dining Services Director for the continuing care retirement community, located at 611 East Hill Road in Southbury.
Matula comes to The Watermark with over 20 years of regional and local dining services experience. In his new role, he will manage the entire operation of the dining services department. This will include overseeing ordering, working with maintenance and outside vendors, planning menus and working with residents on special functions and parties.
“Jason’s varied experience within senior living has given him the skills to lead our dining services team and we are thrilled to welcome him back to The Watermark community,” said Kelly Mazza, Executive Director of The Watermark at East Hill.

Matula started his career with The Watermark at East Hill in 1996 as a kitchen assistant before his subsequent promotions to line cook, sous chef and executive chef. He has served as a cook for other senior living communities, including Hancock Hall in Danbury, and institutions like the State University of New York at Buffalo. Before returning to The Watermark this year, Matula served as the Director of Dining Services at Brookdale Chatfield, a Brookdale Senior Living Community in West Hartford.
“It’s great to come back to The Watermark and see familiar faces, some of which have been here since my first job in 1996,” said Matula. “We have a dynamic dining services team that is eager and accessible to associates and residents alike, so I’m looking forward to working on new and creative dining options with them.”

Matula currently resides in Watertown with his wife and dog.
