WEATHER UPDATE: Flash Flood Warning Issued For Southbury

The National Weather Service predicts that flooding is expected in the area.

A Flash Flood Warning has been issued specifically for Naugatuck and Southbury according to the National Weather Service.

The warning is in effect until 7:45 p.m.

“* AT 449 PM EDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED HEAVY RAIN ACROSS THE WARNED AREA. UP TO TWO INCHES OF RAIN HAVE ALREADY FALLEN. FLASH FLOODING IS EXPECTED.

* SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE... WATERBURY...DANBURY...NAUGATUCK...SOUTHBURY...WOLCOTT...NEWTOWN...BETHEL...HERITAGE VILLAGE...CHESHIRE VILLAGE...ROXBURY FALLS...CHIMNEY POINT AND PUTNAM LAKE.

An additional one to two inches of rain is possible for the warned areas.

The rain isn’t expected to stop until late Tuesday.
