Most people consider the holiday season (late October through the end of December) the worst time to renovate for obvious reasons: you have a lot more on your mind! True...but one of the very best times to renovate is as soon into the new year as you can begin the process, for several reasons: contractors need work and will give lower estimates; contractors will stay on the job because they have few other jobs to pull them away; and suppliers have generally begun restocking their inventories in preparation for the spring. So now is actually the best time to start getting ready for a renovation so that the work can begin early in 2014.
