2026 Dog Licenses In Southington, What You Need To Know
Southington dog owners can renew or obtain dog licenses through the town clerk's office, with the annual 'Top Dog Contest' as an incentive.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — Southington officials are reminding residents that all dogs age 6 months and older must be licensed by June 30 for the 2026-27 licensing year.
According to the Southington Town Clerk's Office, dog licenses for the new licensing year became available May 26 and will take effect July 1.
Officials noted that dogs whose rabies vaccinations expire during June must have updated vaccinations before a new license can be issued.

Residents may renew licenses online if vaccination records are up to date.

Information about new dog license applications, payment options, and online renewals is available through the Southington Town Clerk section of the town's website at southingtonct.gov or via this link.
Top Dog
To encourage compliance, the town is also offering its annual "Top Dog" drawing. All dogs licensed by June 30 will automatically be entered into the 2026 contest.
The drawing is scheduled for July 8. Winning dogs will receive license tag numbers 1, 2 or 3, along with additional prizes.
Town officials encourage residents to complete the licensing process before the deadline to avoid delays and ensure their pets remain properly registered.
Updated rabies information from a veterinarian can be mailed to the Southington Town Clerk's Office at P.O. Box 152, Southington, CT 06489, or submitted through the Town Hall drop box located near the Berlin Avenue parking lot. Residents may also obtain licenses in person at the Town Clerk's Office, 75 Main St.
