4-Year-Old Found Wandering Near Trail in Southington, Woman Charged

SOUTHNGTON, CT — A local woman is facing a criminal charge after a 4-year-old was found walking near a local recreational trail by himself, police said.

Based on the investigation, Tracy Lynn Dagata, 47, of Germania Street, Southington, was arrested and charged with risk of injury to a child, police said.

Dagata was released on a $2,500 bond and given an appearance date of June 19 in Bristol Superior Court, police said.

Two people walking along the Southington Linear Trail located the boy wandering in the area of West Center Street and Bristol Street with no adult supervision, police said.

Police said the boy was allegedly was playing in the front yard of a residence on Germania Street with a juvenile relative and he walked away while Dagata was in the backyard of the residence.

The boy was not injured and did not need medical attention, police said.

The boy was left in the custody of a neighbor and the state Department of Children and Families was made aware of the arrest, police said.

Police said they are not releasing any additional information on the boy or Dagata.
