50-Year-Old Charged for Meeting With 'Minor' in Southington
A warrant was issued after the man met with a supposed minor, police said.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A 50-year-old man has been charged for setting up a meeting in Southington with an undercover cop he thought was a minor, police said.
On Thursday morning, Carl Bezo, 50, of Westfield Massachusetts, surrendered to Southington
police Department after learning of an outstanding warrant for his arrest, police said.

The warrant, which charges Bezo with criminal attempt to commit risk of injury to a minor, resulted
from Bezo meeting someone he believed to be a minor through on online dating site, police said.
The minor was actually being portrayed by an adult from the POP, or Prey on Predator Squad, according to the warrant.

Bezo was never aware that the person was a squad member continued to communicate with the supposed minor through the dating site and via text messaging, the warrant indicates.
Bezo and the minor agreed to meet up at a local store and the interaction was recorded, according to the warrant.
Evidence in the case included the recording plus chat logs, according to the warrant.
Bezo was held on a $100,000 and was to appear on court later on Friday, police said.
