90-Degree Day Perfect For New Snow Groomer At Mount Southington
Mount Southington welcomed a new groomer to its fleet Thursday.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — The thermometer hit at least 90 degrees in Connecticut Thursday, but those at Mount Southington were celebrating like it was the beginning of February.
That's because the snow sports area's new state-of-the-art snow groomer had arrived.
"We may be in a heatwave, but today is a reminder that winter is just around the corner," Mount Southington officials said on social media. "Our brand new Prinoth Leitwolf X arrived today."

According to a profile on the Prinoth website, "maximum slope quality with minimum effort" is the motto of the Leitwolf.
The machine features 530 horsepower, and Prinoth bills it as "the most powerful snow groomer in the world."

The machine is 14.8 feet wide and had a patented parallel offset on its tiller system. It is equipped with an automatic winch, which makes "even slopes with a gradient of over 100 percent child's play," according to the company.
