SOUTHINGTON, CT — Southington Community Services is organizing a townwide winter coat drive throughout April, partnering with local schools, churches, banks, and other public and private organizations to collect donations for residents in need.
The initiative, known as “Operation Stay Warm,” aims to gather new or gently used winter coats for both adults and children.
Officials said donated items must be clean, free of damage or excessive wear, and have working zippers.
According to Community Services, the program distributed 853 winter coats and accessories during the 2025 winter season, highlighting continued demand for cold-weather clothing assistance.
Donations will be accepted through Wednesday, April 30.
Collected items will be distributed in fall 2026 through a pop-up shop and at senior facilities.
A full list of drop-off locations is available on the town’s website.
