SOUTHINGTON, CT — Families in Southington are invited to take part in a free Earth Day clean-up event designed for young children at Panthorn Park later this month.
The “Earth Day Kids Clean-Up,” hosted by the Southington Land Conservation Trust and KinderWild Nature-Based Play & Learning, is scheduled for April 25, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Panthorn Park, 485 Burritt St., in the Plantsville section of town.
Organizers say the event is open to children ages 3 to 10 and their families, with a focus on encouraging environmental stewardship through hands-on participation.
Volunteers will help pick up litter and contribute to beautifying the park.
The event is free to attend, though advance registration is encouraged.
Organizers said the clean-up is part of ongoing local efforts to engage families in conservation activities and promote care for community green spaces.
