SOUTHINGTON, CT — Authorities this week are still trying to piece together how a vehicle drove through the exterior wall of a local CVS pharmacy last Friday.
According to the Southington Fire Department, the vehicle crashed into a CVS at 326 Main St. in Southington, prompting an emergency response and a temporary safety evaluation of the building, officials said.
The SFD reported that crews were dispatched after initial reports indicated a person might be trapped.
However, first responders found that the vehicle had already penetrated the exterior wall and that the driver had been removed before their arrival, reported the SFD.
Fire personnel treated the operator at the scene.
Crews then searched the building to ensure no additional victims were inside and worked with the town’s building department to assess the structure’s stability.
No other injuries were reported.
The incident remains under investigation by the Southington Police Department.
