SOUTHINGTON, CT — The Barnes Museum will present a program Thursday evening examining Southington’s Revolutionary-era history through the women connected to the Hannah Woodruff Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
The event is scheduled for Thursday, May 21, from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Community Room at the Southington Public Library, 255 Main St.
According to organizers, the presentation will focus on the life of Hannah Woodruff, families connected to Revolutionary War soldiers, and the historical ties linking the DAR, the Barnes and Bradley families, and the broader history of Southington.
Current members of the Hannah Woodruff Chapter also plan to display artifacts and personal objects connected to local Revolutionary War history.
The event is part of activities commemorating the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.
Admission is free and open to the public, though organizers said a suggested $10 donation will help support future programming at the museum.
