Southington Announces Water Main Cleaning Schedule, Warns Of Discolored Water

SOUTHINGTON, CT — The Southington Water Department has released its water main cleaning schedule for the week ending May 30, warning residents that temporary water discoloration may occur in affected areas.

The department said 93 streets are scheduled for cleaning, including Academy Street, Berlin Avenue, High Ridge Road, North Main Street, Queen Street, West Street, and dozens of connecting roads throughout town.

Officials advised residents to check their water before doing laundry and said discoloration may occur temporarily while crews complete the maintenance work.

The department also noted that water mains on the listed streets will be cleaned “in no particular order” depending on weather conditions and staff availability.
