SOUTHINGTON, CT — The Southington Water Department is nearing completion of a major water main replacement project affecting Berlin Street, Vermont Avenue and surrounding areas, according to town officials.
Construction crews are continuing work weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., and motorists should expect temporary lane closures and detours while the project is underway.
The project involves replacing aging water infrastructure in the area to improve the reliability of the town's water system.
According to the Water Department, major construction activities are expected to be completed by the end of June.
Final trench paving and restoration work is scheduled to continue through July 10.
Town officials are advising residents and commuters to plan for possible traffic delays during construction hours.
The Water Department thanked residents for their patience as the project approaches completion.
