BRISTOL, CT — Residents and visitors near ESPN's campus may notice an increased law enforcement presence Friday as police from Bristol and Southington conduct a joint training exercise.
In a social media post Friday morning, the Southington Police Department announced that officers from both departments would be participating in training activities at the ESPN campus.
"We will be holding a joint training exercise with the Bristol Police Department on the ESPN campus today," the department said. "This will result in a heavy police presence, as well as a possible increase in audible levels for a short period of time."
Police did not provide additional details about the nature of the training exercise or how long it is expected to last.
Officials said the increased police activity is related to the planned training and not an emergency.
The ESPN campus is located in Bristol near the Southington town line.
