SOUTHINGTON, CT — Someone looking for a perfect furry friend might want to visit Southington's dog pound.
That's because Southington Animal Control is seeking a permanent home for "Sampson," also known as "Sammi," a 7-year-old blue-nose pit bull described as affectionate and loyal.
According to the agency, Sammi has anxiety and takes Prozac to help manage the condition.
Officials say he would do best in a home where someone is present most of the day to provide companionship, consistency, and reassurance.
Animal Control says Sammi enjoys spending time outdoors and especially likes playing fetch.
His favorite toy is a Kong, which staff says is rarely far from his side.
Sammi is neutered and current on his rabies vaccination.
Officials say they are looking for a patient and understanding family willing to provide the stable environment the dog needs.
They say Sammi will reward that commitment with loyalty, affection, and companionship.
Anyone interested in adopting Sammi can contact Southington Animal Control by email at animalcontrol@southingtonpolice.org.
