Southington's Iconic Farmers Market Opens For 2026 This Week

The market kicks off the season this week with 'Community Day,' live music, storytime, free tote bags, and Zumba on the town's green.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — The Southington Farmers Market returns to the Southington Town Green on Friday, June 26, with Community Day, marking the start of the 2026 market season.

The market, located at 75 N. Main St. and organized by the Southington Community YMCA, will be open from 3 to 6 p.m. and will feature local vendors, live music, family activities, and community programming.

Organizers said the event will be held rain or shine.

Highlights of the opening day include storytime with Miss Molly of the Southington Public Library from 3:30 to 4 p.m., live music by the Terri & Rob Duo from 3 to 6 p.m., and a free Zumba class sponsored by the South Central Health District from 4:30 to 5 p.m. The Zumba session is open to all ages.

Visitors can also pick up a free Southington Farmers Market tote bag while supplies last.

The bags include coupons from participating market vendors.

The weekly market is scheduled to run every Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. through Sept. 25.

Each week will feature a different theme, including Americana, Family Fun Day, Eco Friendly Day, Bee Day, Art Day, National Farmers Market Week, Back to School, Dog Days of Summer, Gardening, Fitness Day, Sweet Treats, and Apple Harvest Day.

Organizers encourage residents to shop for locally grown produce and other goods while supporting downtown businesses and connecting with neighbors in the town center
