Southington Library to Host Free Cookbook Swap Friday

The library is inviting residents to exchange gently used cookbooks and, possibly, cook or bake something different.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — The Southington Public Library will host a free community cookbook swap on Friday, June 26, allowing residents to exchange gently used cookbooks for new culinary inspiration.

The drop-in event will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. at the library, 255 Main St. No registration is required.

Participants may bring up to five gently used cookbooks in good condition and exchange each one for another cookbook.

Organizers ask that books be clean and free of excessive staining, torn pages, or other significant damage. Magazines and pamphlets will not be accepted.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a tote bag or box to carry home their selections.

Any cookbooks remaining at the end of the event will be donated to The Friends Bookstore.

Library officials say the swap is intended to provide a simple, low-cost way for residents to refresh their home cookbook collections while discovering new recipes and connecting with fellow home cooks.
