Fourth Of July 2026: Southington Announces Town Impacts

The Fourth of July is this Saturday, with the observed holiday taking place this Friday, July 3.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — With America celebrating a very, very special 250th birthday this Saturday, July 4, Southington leaders have announced municipal impacts regarding services in town.

The Town of Southington has announced holiday hours for Town Hall and the Municipal Center in observance of Independence Day.

Town offices will close at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, and will remain closed on Friday, July 3.

Officials said municipal offices will reopen on Monday, July 6, with normal business hours resuming.

In addition, the Southington Public Library will be closed on Friday, July 3.

It will also be closed Saturday, July 4, and the library will remain closed on Saturdays throughout the summer.

Regular hours resume Monday, July 6, at 9 a.m.

While the library is closed, you may still drop off items in book drops.

The library's digital resources, including the library catalog, also remain accessible through southingtonlibrary.org.

Residents who need to conduct business with town departments are encouraged to plan ahead for the holiday schedule.
