SOUTHINGTON, CT — The Southington Town Clerk's Office has announced the winners of its annual Top Dog contest, recognizing three dogs whose owners completed the town's required dog licensing process before the June 30 deadline.
The drawing, held in conjunction with the town's annual dog licensing campaign, selected the following winners for the 2026-27 licensing year:
The winning dogs receive license tag numbers 1, 2, and 3, along with additional prizes.
Connecticut law requires all dogs 6 months of age and older to be licensed annually. Southington officials remind residents that licenses for the 2026-27 licensing year were due by June 30.
To encourage timely registration, every dog licensed by the deadline was automatically entered into the annual Top Dog drawing.
Town officials encourage residents to license newly eligible dogs promptly and renew licenses each year to keep pets properly registered and in compliance with state law.
