Arc of Southington 5K Walk Slated for April 29th

Local nonprofit hosts 5K fundraiser on Southington Trail

March 28, 2017 - Southington, CT - The Arc of Southington will host a 5K Walk on Saturday, April 29th, from 8:30 a.m. to noon on the Southington Trail. Walkers will meet at the Arc of Southington headquarters, 201 West Main Street, Plantsville, to check in and then walk a short distance down to the trail. Distances will be marked, and light refreshments will be offered at the Arc. Free parking is available at Plantsville Elementary School, 70 Church St., directly behind the Arc. The event, known as the "Arc-a-Thon" is the second for the organization.

“We are extremely grateful to the Town of Southington for allowing us to use the trail for our event this year,” said Sandra Amato, CEO. “It gives us the opportunity to interact in a very positive way with the local community.”

The walk will take place on the Southington Trail beginning at the intersection of West Main Street and Summer Street in Plantsville. Arc volunteers will be at the entrance of the trail to direct walkers.

The price is $25 for adults 18 and over, $10 for youth age 12 to 17, $10 for Special Olympics athletes. Children under 12 are free.You can register for the event online at www.arcsouthington.org/events or call us at 860-628-9220 ext. 240 to register over the phone.

Event is rain or shine. All registrations are considered donations and are tax deductible.
