Arc of Southington Receives Funding from Archbishop’s Annual Appeal
The Arc of Southington received a $1,220 donation from the Archbishop's Annual Appeal through its Vicariate Outreach Program.

Southington, CT - September 26, 2017 The Arc of Southington received a $1,220 donation from the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal through its Vicariate Outreach Program.
The funding will help The Arc of Southington continue to support its self-advocacy program, A New Way. Through this program, individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities learn to advocate for themselves in the medical, political and social arenas. The program also helps to foster friendships and comradery through its many social events and annual variety talent show.
“We are incredibly grateful to the Archdiocese of Hartford for this award. With the huge cuts to our funding resulting from the state’s budget issues we weren’t sure if we’d be able to maintain A New Way program, even though it is not funded through the state but through individual donations and volunteers. In these difficult times, all available money must be used for general operations. Receiving this funding will allow us to continue the program which has such a positive impact on so many people’s lives and is so essential to fulfilling our mission,” said Sandy Amato, CEO of The Arc of Southington.
