Argument At Southington Cumby Leads To Gun Charges
An altercation at a Southington store led to gun and drug charges, police said.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — An altercation at a store in Southington led to the discovery of a loaded, illegal gun and charges against a Bristol man, police said.
On Feb. 3, Southington officers responded to the Cumberland Farms at 1978 West St. after receiving a report about an argument. Officers located the pair matching the description — Shawn Milner, 29, of Bristol, and a female companion at the scene, police said.
While investigating what happened, Milner provided police with a false name and date of birth and officers located on him a loaded .22-caliber handgun with a "filed-off" serial number, according to a report. He did not have a permit for the gun, police added.

Milner's initial $100,000 bond was increased to $250,000 during a Feb. 4 court appearance, which he failed to post. He was still in custody as of Wednesday morning and is due back before a judge on March 11, court records indicate.
The argument that prompted the call to the police did not result in any charges, police said. Milner, however, was also arrested on two failure to appear charges with bonds totaling $105,000 and for violating probation, which resulted in a $900,000 bond, police said. He has several pending cases, judicial system records show.
