Arrest Made for Stolen, Pawned Construction Device

Police have made an arrest after a piece of stolen construction equipment was located in a pawn shop.

SOUTHINGON, CT — Police have made an arrest after a piece of stolen construction equipment was located in a pawn shop.

Police on Monday arrested Paul Didato, 27, of Middletown, on an outstanding warrant. The warrant charged him with third-degree larceny from a theft that occurred in March 2018.

At the time, Didato was employed by River Valley Construction in Southington, police said. A laser measuring device carrying a a value of $2,900 went missing from a company vehicle that the accused had been operating, according to the warrant. The device was discovered in a pawn shop in Cromwell, according to the warrant.

Further investigation led to Didato as a suspect, police said.
