Authorities Dump Blight Infraction on Southington Homeowner

A letter states the property failed numerous inspections.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A local homeowner has been issued an infraction for an unsightly piece of property in the Plantsville section of town.

On Aug. 25 Jodi Cirillo, 52 of Plantsville, was issued an infraction for violation of the Town Blight Ordinance, policxe said.

The Southington Police Department received a letter from a Southington Zoning Enforcement Officer stating that the property located at 777 Old Turnpike Road is considered blighted after multiple inspections from May 6, 2015 to July 28 of this year, according to a report.

The inspections showed there were "unsightly materials" on the property, police said.

The letter stated that the property owner was delivered a Notice of Violation for Blight via a state marshal on May 28, 2015, and the issues "have not been remedied."

The Town of Southington Assessor records showed the property owner of 777 Old Turnpike Road was Cirillo, police said.
