Bank Robbed in Southington on Friday

A bandit fled a bank with money during a robbery on Friday in Southington.

SOUTHINGTON, CT – A Southington Bank Branch was held up on Friday, police said.

At 11:14 a.m. on Friday, Southington officers responded to the TD Bank branch at 121 Main

St. on a report of a robbery.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a white man in his early to mid-30s entered the bank and approached the teller station, police said. He attempted to make a fraudulent transaction with
another person’s identification, police said.

After the transaction was unsuccessful, the man handed the teller a note demanding money while implying he had a weapon, police said.

He was handed an undisclosed sum of money and fled the bank, police said.

No weapon was displayed and no one was injured, police said.

The subject is being described as being 6-feet-tall with thin build. Police said he was wearing a North Face winter knit hat, a dark sweatshirt, dark jeans and work boots.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the crime to contact the Southington Police Department at 860-621-0101.
